Engineering with Shapes

Squares, rectangles and triangles, Oh my!! First and Second grade students had a blast engineering igloos during STEM Lab. First, students practiced making different shapes in a blank document. Students were able to put to use the skills learned during our previous class project. Next, the students filled the shapes with color, outlined shapes and then practiced making the shapes different sizes.  Finally, students set off to engineer a 3D igloo. We had a blast engineering and designing our igloos. Take a look!

A Great Start!

We are off to a great start in the MHA STEM/Computer Lab! We have spent this month refreshing our Microsoft Word skills and learning new tricks to help with future projects in the lab and classroom.

We have also spent time reviewing effective keyboarding skills. Please encourage your student to use the Home Key keyboarding skills they have learned in the computer lab at home and in the regular classroom.

We are wrapping up our keyboarding projects and headed on to our next project soon!
